Teaching practice kicked off

Hi you all,

I hope your teaching practices are going fabulous and I'm happy that I can tell you the same about mine. i started teaching this Monday and it has been a lot of fun up till now. of course I have a lot of preparation work to do, and since I only teach French here in Belfast (due to my talent as a native speaker ;) ;) --> not my words), I have to do everything in French so a huge amount of work.

I have 1 class out of every year (years 8.9.10 and 11) so I have a lot of variety. the lads are all really great, but they do really need a strong guiding hand to keep them in their seats, to keep them concentrated and to keep them interested.
The school has a great educational support team too and I really like all they're doing for their students. it's incredible and most schools wouldn't even know where to start in Belgium, but these people stand of the tips of their toes every day again to help the pupils with difficult backgrounds and no resources to the best of their abilities.

My mentor hardly comes to my classes, both because she told me she trusts me and because she is so busy as the sole Vice Principal. This is an advantage because I'm quite free and the pupils really accept me as their teacher, but the downside is the lack of direct feedback, but yeah ...
